Greens TAFE and training spokesperson Sam Hibbins says a new Auditor General report shows the TAFE funding model is harming the sector.

“The Andrews Government must end the failed VET marketisation policies introduced by the former Brumby Government,” Mr Hibbins said.

“Forcing public TAFEs to compete with private providers for funding just doesn’t work.

“Under the current funding model, taxpayer money is flowing from quality public training to the profit margins of private providers of questionable standards. This has to end now,” Mr Hibbins said.
