UPGRADE PUBLIC HOUSING

Everyone in our community deserves a safe, secure and dignified place to call home.

Public housing is essential to the Prahran community, ensuring that people who need it most have a safe place to call home that is close to services, schools and employment.

But sadly, decades of neglect means that many public housing estates are no longer fit for purpose and require immediate attention to make them clean, safe and liveable.

‘Upgrading public housing in the Prahran electorate will help ensure that everyone in our community has a safe, secure and dignified place to call home.’

Please add your voice to the campaign calling to upgrade our public housing estates in Prahran, Windsor, South Yarra and St Kilda.

To the Minister for Housing: Public housing is essential to the Prahran community, ensuring that people who need it most have a safe place to call home that is close to services, schools and employment.

We request an upgrade of public housing estates in the Prahran electorate – South Yarra, Prahran, Windsor and St Kilda – including:

  • Rebuilding parts of the estates that are simply just not fit for purpose with new and better homes
  • Upgrading units in the existing towers including air-conditioning
  • Improving the grounds, security, cleaning and maintenance
  • Co-locating services on-site so people can get the support and care they need
