MEDIA RELEASE

Acting Greens leader Sam Hibbins says Daniel Andrews needs to follow his federal Labor colleagues and back more transparent political donation rules.

“Ongoing revelations about Mafia links to the old parties shows Victoria needs to clean up its political system, but state Labor is missing in action” Mr Hibbins said.

“Victoria relies on the weak federal political donations laws and lacks the key pillars of an effective integrity regime.

“Reforms should begin by demanding real-time disclosures and imposing a $1000 disclosure threshold.

“Daniel Andrews and Matthew Guy can’t just sit back and hope this scandal blows over during the winter recess.

“Cleaning up our political system must be a top priority for our Parliament when it returns,” Mr Hibbins said.
